Palouse Ridge Golf Club opened in 2008. Palouse Ridge is the home course for the university's men's and women's golf teams. It has already been selected as the site of the 2012 Pac-10 Conference Women's Championships and the 2014 Pac-10 Conference Men's Championships.
The course sits atop of the old 9-hole WSU Public Golf Course. WSU Public was opend in 1954 and designed by Robert Muir Graves. It's replacement, Palouse Ridge Golf Club opened in 2008. Palouse Ridge was designed by John Harbottle, III.
Palouse Ridge is a premier college golf course. The design rolls through windswept, mostly treeless terrain and boasts panoramic views of mountain peaks in Idaho and Oregon. Particularly eye-catching are the massive bunkers that dot the layout. The 463-yard, par-4 1st hole sets the tone, playing along a fescue-covered ridge toward Bryan Clock Tower, WSU's most recognizable landmark.

You have to play this course. Requires shot making, distance, PUTTING... wow these greens are lighting fast and tough to read. Make shots you are rewarded, miss and you pay the price. Very awesome.

Tiered and fast greens. Pin sheet on the carts was not helpful as the actual pin placement and green shapes did not match very well. A lazer range finder would have been helpful. My GPS was only somewhat helful as many of the greens are blind approaches due to elevation. Fairways were very good condition and most had severe side slopes. Knowing which side to hit would have been helpful. (Maybe a tip sheet on the carts or handed out?) Overall, a really nice layout and great condition. Green fees are nornally 3 times what I paid thru a discount site. Great value.
